2 Un produit non commutatif ★★★

\(AB = \begin{pmatrix} 2\cdot 1 + (-1)\cdot 2 & 2 \cdot 4 + (-1)(-2) \\ 0 + 3\cdot 2 & 0 + 3(-2) \end{pmatrix} = \begin{pmatrix} 0 & 10 \\ 6 & -6 \end{pmatrix}\).

\(BA = \begin{pmatrix} 1\cdot 2 + 4\cdot 0 & 1(-1) + 4\cdot 3 \\ 2\cdot 2 + (-2)\cdot 0 & 2(-1) + (-2)\cdot 3 \end{pmatrix} = \begin{pmatrix} 2 & 11 \\ 4 & -8 \end{pmatrix}\).

\(5\cdot 4 - 2\cdot 3 = 14\) ; \((-2)(-3) - 6\cdot 1 = 0\) ; \(7\cdot 1 - (-3)\cdot 2 = 13\).

\(\operatorname{tr}(A) = 2 + 3 + 6 = 11\).

\({}^tA = \begin{pmatrix} 2 & 0 & 1 \\ -1 & 3 & -2 \\ 4 & 5 & 6 \end{pmatrix}\) : on échange lignes et colonnes, la diagonale est inchangée, donc \(\operatorname{tr}({}^tA) = 11\).

5 Inverse d’une matrice 2 × 2 ★★★

\(\det A = 3\cdot 2 - 5\cdot 1 = 1 \neq 0\), donc \(A\) est inversible et \(A^{-1} = \dfrac{1}{1}\begin{pmatrix} 2 & -5 \\ -1 & 3 \end{pmatrix}\).

Vérification : \(AA^{-1} = \begin{pmatrix} 6 - 5 & -15 + 15 \\ 2 - 2 & -5 + 6 \end{pmatrix} = I_2\).

Pour \(B\), \(\det B = 4 - 4 = 0\) : \(B\) n’est pas inversible (ses deux colonnes sont proportionnelles).

6 Vrai ou faux ? ★★★

  1. Faux. Avec \(A = \begin{pmatrix} 0 & 1 \\ 0 & 0 \end{pmatrix}\) et \(B = \begin{pmatrix} 0 & 0 \\ 1 & 0 \end{pmatrix}\), \(A + B = \begin{pmatrix} 0 & 1 \\ 1 & 0 \end{pmatrix}\) donc \((A+B)^2 = I_2\), alors que \(A^2 + 2AB + B^2 = 2AB = \begin{pmatrix} 2 & 0 \\ 0 & 0 \end{pmatrix}\).
  2. Vrai : \(\sum_i\sum_k a_{ik}b_{ki} = \sum_k\sum_i b_{ki}a_{ik}\).
  3. Faux. Avec \(A = \begin{pmatrix} 1 & 0 \\ 0 & 0 \end{pmatrix}\) et \(B = \begin{pmatrix} 0 & 0 \\ 0 & 1 \end{pmatrix}\), on a \(AB = 0\).

\(\begin{pmatrix} 2 & -1 \\ 1 & 3 \\ -1 & 4 \end{pmatrix}\begin{pmatrix} 2 \\ -3 \end{pmatrix} = \begin{pmatrix} 7 \\ -7 \\ -14 \end{pmatrix}\), soit \(f(2,-3) = (7,-7,-14)\).

8 Puissances d’une matrice triangulaire ★★★

On calcule \(A^2 = \begin{pmatrix} 1 & 6 \\ 0 & 1 \end{pmatrix}\), \(A^3 = \begin{pmatrix} 1 & 9 \\ 0 & 1 \end{pmatrix}\) : on conjecture \(A^n = \begin{pmatrix} 1 & 3n \\ 0 & 1 \end{pmatrix}\).

Initialisation : vraie pour \(n = 0\) (\(I_2\)) et \(n=1\). Hérédité : si \(A^n\) est de cette forme, \(A^{n+1} = A^nA = \begin{pmatrix} 1 & 3 + 3n \\ 0 & 1 \end{pmatrix} = \begin{pmatrix} 1 & 3(n+1) \\ 0 & 1 \end{pmatrix}\).

Ainsi \(A^{10} = \begin{pmatrix} 1 & 30 \\ 0 & 1 \end{pmatrix}\).

9 Matrice nilpotente ★★★

\(N^2 = \begin{pmatrix} 0 & 0 & 6 \\ 0 & 0 & 0 \\ 0 & 0 & 0 \end{pmatrix}\) et \(N^3 = N^2 N = 0\).

Comme \(N\) commute avec \(I_3\), \((I_3 + N)(I_3 - N + N^2) = I_3 + N^3 = I_3\). Donc \(I_3 + N\) est inversible, d’inverse \(I_3 - N + N^2 = \begin{pmatrix} 1 & -2 & 5 \\ 0 & 1 & -3 \\ 0 & 0 & 1 \end{pmatrix}\).

10 Le prix des paniers de fruits ★★★

Soient \(x, y, z\) les prix d’une pomme, d’une poire et d’une orange. Le système est \(\begin{cases} 2x + y + z = 12 \\ x + 2y + 3z = 23 \\ 3x + y + 2z = 19 \end{cases}\).

On échange \(L_1\) et \(L_2\) pour avoir un pivot égal à \(1\). Puis \(L_2 \leftarrow L_2 - 2L_1\) donne \(-3y - 5z = -34\) et \(L_3 \leftarrow L_3 - 3L_1\) donne \(-5y - 7z = -50\).

On a donc \(3y + 5z = 34\) et \(5y + 7z = 50\). En faisant \(5\times\) la première moins \(3\times\) la seconde, \(4z = 20\), soit \(z = 5\). Alors \(y = (34 - 25)/3 = 3\), puis \(x = 23 - 6 - 15 = 2\).

Une pomme coûte \(2\) €, une poire \(3\) € et une orange \(5\) €.

11 Système à une infinité de solutions ★★★

\(L_2 \leftarrow L_2 - 2L_1\) : \(-3y + 3z = 3\), soit \(z - y = 1\). \(L_3 \leftarrow L_3 - L_1\) : \(-3y + 3z = 3\), même équation : la troisième ligne est inutile. Le système est de rang \(2\).

On pose \(x = t\) : \(z = y + 1\), et la première équation donne \(t + 2y - (y+1) = 1\), donc \(y = 2 - t\) et \(z = 3 - t\). Les solutions sont les triplets \((t,\ 2 - t,\ 3 - t)\), \(t \in \mathbb{R}\).

Avec le second membre \(3\), on obtient \(-3y + 3z = 2\) au lieu de \(3\) : la ligne \(0 = -1\) apparaît, le système est incompatible (aucune solution).

12 Une translation de polynômes ★★★

\(T(1) = 1\), \(T(X) = X + 1\), \(T(X^2) = X^2 + 2X + 1\).

Sarrus : \((1\cdot 0\cdot 5 + 4\cdot 1\cdot 2 + (-2)\cdot 3\cdot(-1)) - ((-2)\cdot 0\cdot 2 + 1\cdot 1\cdot(-1) + 4\cdot 3\cdot 5) = (0 + 8 + 6) - (0 - 1 + 60) = 14 - 59 = -45\).

Par pivot : \(L_2 \leftarrow L_2 - 3L_1\) et \(L_3 \leftarrow L_3 - 2L_1\) ne changent pas le déterminant et donnent \(\begin{pmatrix} 1 & 4 & -2 \\ 0 & -12 & 7 \\ 0 & -9 & 9 \end{pmatrix}\), d’où \(1 \times (-12\cdot 9 - 7\cdot(-9)) = -108 + 63 = -45\).

14 Déterminants et opérations ★★★

\(\det(2A) = 2^3 \det A = 32\) ; \(\det({}^tA) = 4\) ; \(\det(A^{-1}) = \dfrac{1}{4}\) ; \(\det(A^2) = 4^2 = 16\) ; \(\det(-A) = (-1)^3 \cdot 4 = -4\) ; \(\det(A^3) = 4^3 = 64\).

15 Calcul de rang ★★★

Pour \(M\), la deuxième ligne vaut \(2\) fois la première : \(L_2 - 2L_1 = 0\). Les lignes \((1,2,3)\) et \((1,0,1)\) ne sont pas proportionnelles, donc \(\operatorname{rg} M = 2\) (et \(\det M = 0\)).

Pour \(N\), on remarque que \(L_3 = L_1 + L_2\) ; \(L_1\) et \(L_2\) ne sont pas proportionnelles : \(\operatorname{rg} N = 2\).

16 Diagonalisation et puissances ★★★

  1. \(\det P = 1 - 2 = -1 \neq 0\) et \(P^{-1} = \dfrac{1}{-1}\begin{pmatrix} 1 & -2 \\ -1 & 1 \end{pmatrix} = \begin{pmatrix} -1 & 2 \\ 1 & -1 \end{pmatrix}\).
  2. \(AP = \begin{pmatrix} 4 - 2 & 8 - 2 \\ 1 + 1 & 2 + 1 \end{pmatrix} = \begin{pmatrix} 2 & 6 \\ 2 & 3 \end{pmatrix}\), puis \(P^{-1}(AP) = \begin{pmatrix} -2 + 4 & -6 + 6 \\ 2 - 2 & 6 - 3 \end{pmatrix} = \begin{pmatrix} 2 & 0 \\ 0 & 3 \end{pmatrix} = D\).
  3. \(A = PDP^{-1}\), donc \(A^n = PD^nP^{-1} = \begin{pmatrix} 2^n & 2\cdot 3^n \\ 2^n & 3^n \end{pmatrix}\begin{pmatrix} -1 & 2 \\ 1 & -1 \end{pmatrix} = \begin{pmatrix} -2^n + 2\cdot 3^n & 2^{n+1} - 2\cdot 3^n \\ -2^n + 3^n & 2^{n+1} - 3^n \end{pmatrix}\).
    Pour \(n = 4\) : \(A^4 = \begin{pmatrix} 146 & -130 \\ 65 & -49 \end{pmatrix}\).

17 Les marches de l’escalier ★★★

  1. Pour \(n = 1\), \(M = \begin{pmatrix} F_2 & F_1 \\ F_1 & F_0 \end{pmatrix}\). Si la formule est vraie au rang \(n\), \(M^{n+1} = M^nM = \begin{pmatrix} F_{n+1} + F_n & F_{n+1} \\ F_n + F_{n-1} & F_n \end{pmatrix} = \begin{pmatrix} F_{n+2} & F_{n+1} \\ F_{n+1} & F_n \end{pmatrix}\).
  2. \(\det M = -1\), donc \(\det(M^n) = (-1)^n\) ; or \(\det(M^n) = F_{n+1}F_{n-1} - F_n^2\).
  3. \(M^5 = \begin{pmatrix} 8 & 5 \\ 5 & 3 \end{pmatrix}\) et \(M^{10} = (M^5)^2 = \begin{pmatrix} 89 & 55 \\ 55 & 34 \end{pmatrix}\). Ainsi \(F_{11} = 89\) : il y a \(89\) façons de gravir \(10\) marches. Contrôle : \(89 \times 34 - 55^2 = 3026 - 3025 = 1 = (-1)^{10}\).

18 Matrice à paramètre ★★★

  1. En développant selon la première colonne, \(\det M(m) = 1\cdot(1 - m^2) - m\,(m\cdot 1 - 0) + 0 = 1 - 2m^2\).
  2. \(M(m)\) n’est pas inversible si et seulement si \(1 - 2m^2 = 0\), soit \(m = \pm\dfrac{1}{\sqrt{2}}\) (c’est-à-dire \(m = \pm \dfrac{\sqrt{2}}{2}\)).
  3. Pour ces valeurs, \(m \neq 0\) : les lignes \((1, m, 0)\) et \((0, m, 1)\) ne sont pas proportionnelles, donc le rang est au moins \(2\) ; comme \(\det = 0\), il est exactement \(2\).

19 Matrices semblables ou non ★★★

  1. \(P^{-1} = \begin{pmatrix} 1 & -1 \\ 0 & 1 \end{pmatrix}\). \(AP = \begin{pmatrix} 1 & 3 \\ 0 & 3 \end{pmatrix}\), puis \(P^{-1}AP = \begin{pmatrix} 1 & 0 \\ 0 & 3 \end{pmatrix} = D\) : \(A\) et \(D\) sont semblables.

  1. \(T^2 = \begin{pmatrix} 0{,}64 + 0{,}08 & 0{,}32 + 0{,}24 \\ 0{,}16 + 0{,}12 & 0{,}08 + 0{,}36 \end{pmatrix} = \begin{pmatrix} 0{,}72 & 0{,}56 \\ 0{,}28 & 0{,}44 \end{pmatrix}\). Alors \(X_2 = T^2X_0 = \begin{pmatrix} 0{,}72 \\ 0{,}28 \end{pmatrix}\) : la probabilité d’avoir du soleil après-demain est \(0{,}72\).
  2. \(TX = X\) donne \(0{,}8s + 0{,}4p = s\), soit \(0{,}2s = 0{,}4p\), donc \(s = 2p\).
