1 Count and write / 4 pts

Look at plates A, B and C. Write how many objects are on each plate (3 numerals). Then, for plate A, say which number word is the last one you say when you count.

Write the numeral for each number word: three, seven, zero.

3 Count out nine / 4 pts

Mr. Chen puts nine pencils in a cup, counting as he goes. (a) Which number word does he say for the last pencil? (b) Write the numeral for how many pencils are in the cup. (c) Zoe touches the same pencils and says: one, two, three, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten. She says there are ten pencils. Is she right? How many pencils are in the cup?

4 Circle and array / 4 pts

Count the counters in the circle. Then count the squares in the array. Write two numerals.

5 Counting on to twenty / 3 pts

Fill in the missing numbers: sixteen, ___, eighteen, ___, twenty. Then write the number that comes right after twelve.

6 Think about it / 2 pts

Nora has six cubes in a tall tower. She spreads them out flat on the table. Does she have more cubes now, fewer cubes, or the same number? Explain.
