2 Name the solids / 4 pts

  1. A drum is a cylinder (1 pt).
  2. An orange is a sphere (1 pt).
  3. A die-shaped block is a cube (1 pt).
  4. A traffic cone is a cone (1 pt).

3 Sides and corners / 4 pts

Triangle: \(3\) sides and \(3\) corners (1 pt). Square: \(4\) sides and \(4\) corners (1 pt). Hexagon: \(6\) sides and \(6\) corners (1 pt). Circle: \(0\) sides and \(0\) corners (1 pt).

4 Where is it? / 3 pts

  1. The cone B is lower than the cube A, so it is below the cube (1 pt).
  2. Yes, the sphere C is next to the cone B (1 pt).
  3. The cube A is above the cone B (1 pt).

5 Flat or solid? / 3 pts

  1. A ball is solid (1 pt).
  2. A triangle drawn on paper is flat (1 pt).
  3. A can of corn is solid (1 pt).

6 Build a shape / 2 pts

(a) Two squares side by side make a rectangle (1 pt). (b) The new shape has four sides, so it has \(4\) corners (1 pt).
