Suggested time: 45 minutes. Out of 20 points. Calculator allowed only when the problem says so.

2 Fractions / 4 pts

Compute and simplify. a) \(\dfrac{5}{6}\cdot\left(-\dfrac{9}{10}\right)\) b) \(1\dfrac{1}{2}\cdot 2\dfrac{2}{3}\) c) \(-\dfrac{7}{8}\div\dfrac{7}{12}\) d) \(3\dfrac{3}{4}\div\left(-1\dfrac{1}{2}\right)\)

3 Decimals / 3 pts

Write as decimals (use a bar for repeating digits). a) \(\dfrac{9}{20}\) b) \(\dfrac{5}{9}\) c) \(\dfrac{11}{6}\)

4 Order of operations / 4 pts

Evaluate. a) \(-8+(-3)(5-9)\div 2\) b) \(\dfrac{1}{2}-\dfrac{3}{4}\cdot\left(-\dfrac{2}{3}\right)\)

5 Properties / 3 pts

a) Use the distributive property to compute \(18\left(-\dfrac{5}{6}+\dfrac{2}{9}\right)\). b) Name the property: \(\left(-\dfrac{3}{5}\right)\left(-\dfrac{5}{3}\right)=1\).

6 Pool level / 3 pts

The water level of a pool drops \(1\dfrac{3}{4}\) inches per day for 6 days. Then rain raises it by \(2\dfrac{1}{2}\) inches. What is the net change?
