3 Comparing / 3 pts

Zoe has 13 points and Kit has 8 points.

  1. How many more points does Zoe have than Kit? Write an equation.
  2. Fay has 3 fewer points than Kit. How many points does Fay have?

4 Three numbers / 3 pts

Add.

  1. \(2 + 8 + 9\) (make ten first)
  2. \(3 + 8 + 7\)

5 Choose the operation / 3 pts

Write + or - and solve.

  1. 9 red balloons and 6 blue balloons. How many balloons?
  2. 20 cherries and 12 are eaten. How many are left?
  3. 11 children are on swings and 6 more come. How many children?

6 Draw a model / 3 pts

A basket holds 16 fruits. 7 are apples and the rest are pears.

  1. Draw a bar model.
  2. Write an equation.
  3. How many pears are there? Answer with a sentence.
