Test solutions Grade 2 : Shapes, Arrays and Equal Parts — Zyro the alien explorer of Planète Maths

Test solutions with the detailed point scale. Add up your points and spot what to review.

Suggested time: 45 minutes. Out of 20 points. Calculator allowed only when the problem says so.

2 Solids / 4 pts

  1. 6 faces (1 pt)
  2. 12 edges (1 pt)
  3. 8 vertices (1 pt)
  4. A square (1 pt)

3 Arrays / 4 pts

  1. \(3 + 3 + 3 + 3 = 12\) (1 pt)
  2. \(4 + 4 + 4 = 12\) (1 pt)
  3. There are 12 desks. (1 pt)
  4. \(5 + 5 + 5 + 5 + 5 = 25\), so 5 rows. (1 pt)

4 Squares in a rectangle / 5 pts

  1. \(5 + 5 = 10\) squares (2 pts)
  2. Half of 10 is 5, because \(5 + 5 = 10\). Shade 5 squares, for example one row. (2 pts)
  3. If the squares differ, the parts are not equal shares, and the count would not describe equal rows and columns. (1 pt)

5 Equal parts / 3 pts

  1. One fourth (1 pt)
  2. 4 parts make the whole circle. (1 pt)
  3. No. Halves must be 2 parts of the same size. (1 pt)
