  2. A rectangular yard has a perimeter of 30 ft and a length of 9 ft. Find its width and its area.

A tank holds 5 gallons of water. (a) How many 2-quart pitchers can be filled completely from it? (b) Three of the full pitchers are then emptied at a picnic. How many quarts of water are left in the other full pitchers?
