Estimate each quotient. Write the compatible numbers you use.

3 Partial quotients and area model / 4 pts

(a) Use partial quotients to find \(1{,}092 \div 4\). (b) Use an area model with two pieces to find \(972 \div 12\).

4 Long division / 4 pts

Use long division. Write any remainder as R.

  1. \(5{,}487 \div 7\)
  2. \(8{,}694 \div 38\)

5 Field trip remainders / 3 pts

There are 134 students on a field trip.

  1. Divide 134 by 9 and write the result with a remainder.
  2. Each van seats 9 students. How many vans are needed?
  3. A 134-centimeter ribbon is cut into pieces 9 centimeters long. How many whole pieces are cut and how long is the leftover ribbon?

6 Seats in a theater / 3 pts

A theater has 2,340 seats arranged in 36 equal rows. (a) How many seats are in each row? (b) How many seats are in 4 rows?
