1 Describing a garden / 3 pts

A garden has 12 tulips, 18 daisies and 6 roses. Write each ratio in simplest form: (a) tulips to daisies, (b) roses to all flowers, (c) daisies to tulips.

2 Equivalent ratios / 3 pts

(a) Find the missing number: \( 5:8 = 20:\square \). (b) Find the missing number: \( 5:8 = \square:56 \). (c) Are \( 12:20 \) and \( 21:35 \) equivalent? Explain.

3 Cereal prices / 4 pts

Brand X sells 18 oz of cereal for $4.50. Brand Y sells 30 oz for $6.90. (a) Find each unit price. (b) Which brand is the better buy? (c) How much do 90 oz of the better buy cost?

4 Jogging speed / 3 pts

Jenna jogs 2.5 miles in 20 minutes at a steady pace. (a) What is her speed in miles per hour? (b) How far does she jog in 50 minutes?

5 Beads / 4 pts

A necklace has 63 beads, red and yellow, in the ratio \( 4:3 \). Use a tape diagram to find how many beads of each color there are.

6 Printing job / 3 pts

A school printer prints 45 pages in 6 minutes. (a) Find the unit rate in pages per minute. (b) How long does it take to print 150 pages?
